I’m Solomon Carter, author of the Roberts and Bradley PI crime thriller series, The Last Line thriller series, and the DI Hogarth Darkest series. I write mysteries, crime and thriller novels featuring characters on the edge.

I was born in Southend, Essex (England) and lived there for most of my life. I misspent my student days in South London before returning to life in Essex. For years I worked a string of jobs before life took a turn during the financial crisis of 2008 and I became the manager of an amazing food bank. This food bank served a town with an astronomical level of poverty and addiction. It helped thousands of interesting people who were facing all kinds of calamitous issues in their daily lives. Because of this experience – and my other varied jobs around the town – most of my stories are set in Southend. In 2016 I moved to North Cornwall with my family – because I liked the idea of never-ending holidays! Cornwall is beautiful. I still visit Southend and enjoy it.
I also write almost every single day of my life. The things of my Southend and London days still infuse my stories. My objective in life is to continue to write action-packed thrillers and page-turning mysteries that readers love and enjoy. My sincere hope is to get better at what I do with every book across each and every year that lies ahead.

As part of my work, I give away a lot of free books. If you would like to receive some of these and get the other exclusives on offer, then consider yourself invited to join my free readers’ group at SolomonCarter.net. I won’t ever spam you – I’ll just send you the occasional email with news on the latest books and forthcoming freebies.

And if you want to see the the memes, personal shares and other oddball stuff I get up to, then you can join me at Facebook via www.facebook.com/solomoncarterwrites. I’d be glad to see you there.

I do like to hear from readers and try to respond to every message I receive. If I don’t reply to you for any reason, it’ll be down to an oversight on my part. Just re-send your message or comment and I will get back to you.

What I think I’m good at: Telling stories
Bad at: dancing, being patient, not eating chocolate.
What I love: nature, the seaside, adventures
Writers I can heartily recommend: Lee Child, Ian Rankin, Henning Mankell, Harlan Coben, Robert Crais.
Writers I need to read more of: Val McDermid, Ian Rankin, Michael Connelly and others.
Other things I like to do besides writing: running going to balance out the sitting behind a laptop (a habit inspired by Haruki Murakami’s ‘Things I talk about when I talk about running’ – a truly great book).
-I am currently doing surf lessons. Because Cornwall πŸ™‚
-Getting out into nature as much as I can.

My writing plans for 2018-19:

DI Hogarth’s Darkest series
Completion of the Black and Gold vigilante justice short read series
The new Roberts and Bradley PI series, Harder They Fall
Starting work on another series for 2019 – DI Hogarth are you ready?

I look forward to hearing from you.
Until then I’ll keep on writing. Or running. Or eating cholocate. Or chasing my children around the house.

All the very best,
Solomon πŸ™‚

Tony Harmsworth was born in Brocket Hall in 1948 and educated in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire and Bude, Cornwall. After disastrous university entrance results, caused mainly by a severe allergy, Tony was thrown back upon his own resources taking whatever work he could find after leaving school.

With only a high-school education, but an IQ of 158, he began his career in retail. A quick learner, he rapidly progressed to store management before reaching twenty. He switched careers in 1971 to the cosmetics industry where he helped develop administration and computer systems for Wella. He was quickly promoted and was soon reporting directly to the managing director.

In 1976, he was head-hunted by British American Cosmetics where he stayed until 1978.

Aged 30, lifestyle had become more important than climbing the greasy pole, so he and his wife moved to the Highlands of Scotland.

He spent the next fifteen years staging exhibitions and creating visitor attractions which included the Loch Ness Centre, the Story of Scotland and the Macbeth Experience. After a failed excursion into manufacturing, crushed by the 1990 recession, he progressed into tour-operating, quickly establishing, according to Trip Advisor, the most highly-acclaimed private guided-tour company in Scotland.

He retired from the tourism industry in 2013 after writing,Β LOCH NESS UNDERSTOOD, the most comprehensive book about Loch Ness – a geography of the loch, biography of the famous monster and autobiography of his time living on the lochside. It is written from the sceptical viewpoint, tearing apart long-established evidence but also giving credence to some far less sensational possibilities.

He now writes science fiction in the old-style, descriptive, with as much real science as possible. His style has been compared to Arthur Clarke by his readers, but sadly not, so far, by the publishing companies. This has resulted in this ‘go it alone’ website.

Graham H Miller has been writing since his teenage years when he had a scenario printed in a role-playing magazine. Since then he’s written articles, guest posts and a book on pagan subjects. His brain is always at work, with more ideas than time. He is a house-husband proudly perpetuating the stereotype by writing books while his three boys are at school. He has two blogs that are erratically updated – one about life as father to three special boys and the other covering his thoughts on writing and the publishing process. His interests include prehistory, classic cars, anything Viking and learning Welsh. Fascinated by everything, he lives in South Wales and is older than he thinks he is!
