HEAT “Beyond Mindslip” makes climate change seem no more than a warm summer’s day.

In 2019, Betelgeuse turned supernova. The radiation, coupled with coronal mass ejections, caused every creature on Earth to change in a drastic manner. MINDSLIP, “Evolution’s Nemesis” deals with the story from the explosion and through the dramatic discoveries made by the scientists who were part of the Mindslip Catastrophe Committee. HEAT “Beyond Mindslip” takes up the tale. They can be read as stand-alone novels.

Solar flares and radiation have shut down the ISS and moonbase. How will NASA and Roscosmos counter the existential threat of extreme rising temperatures? When Betelgeuse exploded thirteen years previously, no one anticipated the long-term effect upon Earth’s climate. Some considered evacuation to be the only solution, but evacuate to where?

Beth Arnold was a key player in the MINDSLIP crisis, now, older and wiser, she is trying to overcome astronomical odds to save herself and her family. Small nations are scrambling to secure a future for their populations, while the superpowers collude to protect their interests. How far will they go?

Time is running out and only four solutions still exist. How can Earth’s resources be channelled into saving the world. Is it even possible?

During the middle of a storm, a local radio DJ is savagely murdered in his Essex mansion. When the clouds and rain clear the following morning, DS Tomek Bowen and his team discover a crime scene reminiscent of something from the history books.

The evidence suggests this was a random killing. But as Tomek peels back the layers of the victim’s life, he realises there’s more to the DJ than meets the eye.

Meanwhile, at home, Tomek is forced to battle a difficult teenager who, for some reason, is becoming more and more combative. All because she met Zeus, the man who’s going to save the world. But only if she does everything he tells her, regardless of who she hurts along the way.

The latest three-book series by Solomon Carter featuring a new team headed by DI Verity Zennor.

When a young body washes ashore on a tranquil North Cornwall beach, the mysterious mark found on their neck mirrors two previous victims found along the coast.

DI Verity Zennor and her team face a chilling puzzle – the victims appear to come from Eastern Europe, but the meaning of the grisly mark remains elusive.

Who killed these young victims?
And why were their bodies thrown into the sea?

As Zennor delves into the darkness, a fresh crime scene soon comes her way—a woman named Susan Quant is found dead on remote farmland, her body left as food for animals.

Zennor discovers that Quant was well-loved by those who knew her – but she soon unearths Quant’s shadowy past, and a raft of unusual enemies.

Just who is the enigmatic ‘Black Books’ – the man who was seen with Quant in the weeks before her murder – and what secrets was she hiding from those who knew her best?

With an imposing NCA team breathing down her neck and a deputy on the verge of mutiny, DI Zennor must tread carefully to solve these crimes. But time is not on her side and the stakes couldn’t be higher—countless lives are in the balance… her team is at risk and even Zennor’s family is in danger from those who lurk in the shadows.

DI Zennor must work tirelessly to uncover the secrets of the dead on North Cornwall’s Silent Shore or more victims will pay the price.

In a thrilling conclusion, DI Zennor will discover that the darkest secrets are those we cannot see… until it’s too late.

I love this series.

Can a murder house become a home sweet home?

Fats Licata has a dream and a deadline. She wants to bring her baby home to a historic Tudor and no other house will do. Unfortunately, it just happens to belong to murderer Brian Shill and he won’t sell. Fats doesn’t see problems. She sees solutions. All she needs is proof that Shill killed his mother to get the property. Easy peasy.

When Mercy takes the case, she knows it’s a long shot. Mary Shill died of natural causes before she had time to write her disease of a son out of her will, making him a millionaire. No one thinks Brian Shill is that lucky, but proof wasn’t easy to come by.

What Mercy discovers is that her cold case is also a complicated one. She finds hidden rooms and long-buried pain and with the help of an old enemy, she gets the clue to crack open all the Shill secrets and a sinister plot that preys on the vulnerable.

Will Mercy be able to save a new friend or will she be next on the hit list?

Melanie delivers and delivers some more. I’ve lost track of how many books I’ve sent Melanie’s way, and for good reason: she’s thorough, goes above and beyond the usual edits, and I know the book will be in safe hands. On occasion, if she spots something that’s beyond her scope, she will let me know (which she doesn’t have to). Melanie is a delight to work with and I’m more than happy to recommend her to other authors in the community looking for an excellent service.
