Editing in the Garden

After three glorious days during which I completed an edit on a great novel and for the first time ever, was able to work on the whole manuscript—from start to finish—outdoors in the garden, the British summer has returned and I’m back inside wearing a cardigan!

I currently have the company of two sweet little dogs who are staying with me for a holiday whilst I’m working.

What a joy to be outside.

Making My Day

I am so lucky to be doing a job that I love. It’s been hard to get established, but my efforts have paid off, and I am working with an amazing group of authors, both experienced and novice.

This year, I’ve been incredibly busy, working through weekends and holidays, but it is all worthwhile when I receive such wonderful feedback from the writers. After working through yet another weekend, I’ve had two lovely comments—one from an experienced writer who I’ve been working with for a couple of years and one from a novice whose first novel I completed last week—I know that authors appreciate reviews of their novels, but as an editor, it makes my day when someone is kind enough to thank me for my efforts.

Thank you for that edit. That was brilliant!

Just want to say I am at Chapter two and am loving how you are improving my work. Thank you.
