Rory Clarke, the manager of a fish farm in Connemara, is found drowned in the Atlantic his head mashed between a boat and a raft. The general consensus is that the death is accidental. But DI Fiona Madden’s pathologist friend is not so sure. The coroner issues an open verdict and calls on the Garda Siochana to investigate the death. The investigation concentrates on the life of the deceased who was a well-known philanderer and the operation of the fish farm which is more suspicious than it at first seems. Fiona’s love life is in flux with the news that her partner has already arranged to take up a lecturing post in Australia.
Fiona and her trusty sergeant Sean Tracy must untangle a labyrinth involving sex, drugs and money laundering to get to the answer behind Rory Clarke’s demise.
