An exceptionally busy month with eleven novels edited—a total of 675,000 words—plus the usual samples and rewrites.
Five of these were in the Starship Renegades series by Saffron Bryant which were slotted around a variety of novels in other genres including the first in a new series, The Career Killer a debut novel by Ali Gunn, The Dauphin Deception the fourth in the Alex Hunt series by Urcelia Teixeira, another sci-fi novel (details to follow when available), and the latest thriller by John Carson, the first in the new Harry McNeil series, Sticks and Stones.
August ended with the latest thriller from Sharon M Thompson and the second in the lovely series by Hilary Pugh both of which will be published in the near future.
My doggy companions during August were Harley, who is particularly fond of sleeping in an old planter as well as taking shoes, socks, gloves and anything else he can find into the garden, Milo, a delightful but restful companion, and the gorgeous little poodle, Dolly arrived at the end of the month.
A gripping first novel in the new DCI Harry McNeil series by John Carson—Sticks and Stones is available for pre-order now and will be published on 31st August.
From the author of the DI Frank Miller Scottish Crime series comes the first in a spin-off series.

It took me three books into my series to realize what I’ve been missing! Melanie is fantastic to work with. Her editing goes beyond a copy edit & proofread. She also drew my attention to a few technical flaws and made wonderful suggestions to improve my book. She’s quick, delivers and very approachable. I have already booked her in on my next five books! Thank you Melanie.
I finished editing the fourth novel in this thriller series by Urcelia Teixeira last week and it is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
Pulse-pounding action from the very first chapter transports you back through history into a world of secret fraternities where it is up to Alex and Sam to save the world from destruction.
Travel back to 1779 when the French Revolution marked the end of the French monarchy. The world thought they knew what happened, but when a centuries old secret is at threat of being exposed, only the smart will survive…
Another wonderful and humorous instalment in the Guesthouse on the Green series as Mammy and Moira travel Vietnam.
I love the series and can't wait for book four!
A quick but emotional read - reading about the cruelty to the dog was heartbreaking but this was a lovely tale of the love and healing that animals can bring to our lives.
I would have given five stars but for the missed typos - a few t...
I get the impression that this could be a nice story but I've had to give up after forcing myself to go as far as 15% of the way through. If this novel has ever been near a remotely professional editor then the author was conned.
Chapte...
Another very enjoyable story but with a few niggles, hence the four stars rather than five. Maybe it's because I was tired but the editing issues grated on me more than in the first story and, do people really generally believe that 'ear...
