The fourth book in the wonderful O’Mara’s series that I’ve had the pleasure of editing. The whole series is now available as a box set.

Roisin O’Mara regrets a lot of things.

She regrets having just snaffled the out of date Jacobs Club bar she found at the back of the cupboard, and the cheese she ate before bed the night before—it gave her the strangest dreams. Mammy always told her not to eat cheese before bed. She should have listened. Just like when Mammy asked her if she was sure she was doing the right thing getting married because that’s her biggest regret of all.

When Roisin discovers a secret her husband’s been keeping from her she and their five-year-old son, Noah, leave London and head for her old home in Dublin, O’Mara’s Guesthouse/ on the Green.

Reggie Nolan has regrets too. To say he’s sorry, isn’t in his vocabulary but time is running out. He’s come to stay at O’Mara’s to try and find the strength to put things right with the person he loves most in the world.

With a little sisterly love and some advice from Mammy will Roisin be able to move forward? And can Reggie make amends for what he did thirty years ago, before it’s too late?

Come and stay at O’Mara’s…

What goes on tour stays on tour right? Erm not when you’re talking about Mammy and Moira O’Mara…

Moira and Maureen O’Mara aren’t on your usual mother, daughter trip. You won’t spot them browsing the shops on Grafton Street followed by a spot of a lunch in Dublin’s iconic Bewleys. Oh no, Moira and her mammy have just arrived in Vietnam…

‘Sure it wasn’t where his real life was and look at the state of his lady friend, Cindy, or was it Cynthia, and that enormous bosom of hers? What woman in her right mind would pay good money to stand in the shower and not be able to see their toes? Sure, that came around soon enough as it was. She cast a baleful glance at her midriff.’

Due to be published on 5th May, you can pre-order your copy of What Goes on Tour

April 1st, 2019 by Melanie3101

A very busy and incredibly enjoyable month with such a wide variety of novels in several different versions of English and a wide selection of genres.  I’m so lucky to be working with such lovely authors.

The end of February/beginning of March saw me working on the first novel in the new The Secret Fear series featuring DI Hogarth and set in Southend, written by Solomon Carter.

Next up was the twelfth in John Carson’s Di Miller series, Time of Death, followed by Secrets and Vengeful, the first and second novels in Sharon M. Thompson’s Australian revenge thriller series.

I then worked on an – as yet unpublished – autobiographical story of a young boy growing up in South Africa in the days of apartheid followed by Michelle Vernal’s beautiful tale, The Promise, a beautifully written story of romance and relationships across the generations in the Isle of Wight.

A sexually charged tale of life in the high-octane world of finance in the City, a sci-fi novel with a modern-day theme, and the second in the DI Hogarth series by Solomon Carter, The Secret Dawn completed the month.

April is just as busy with a line-up of detective stories, revenge thrillers, romance, sci-fi, and even a non-fiction work to keep me out of mischief.

Many thanks to all the wonderful authors I work with for making my work such a pleasure.

For the second time in recent months, I’ve received four manuscripts in the space of one week – one scheduled, one anticipated, and two completely out of the blue!  A fifth manuscript is due to reach me on 3rd March.

I love being busy and have had a thoroughly enjoyable night working on Moira Lisa Smile, the second in the charming Guesthouse on the Green series by Michelle Vernal. The first in the series, O’Mara’s was completed earlier this week.

Next up is the first novel in the second series featuring DI Hogarth, by Solomon Carter.  DI Hogarth featured as the protagonist in The Darkest series published in spring 2018 after first appearing in the Eva and Dan Private Investigator novels.

Green Door by Tony Harmsworth is scheduled for next week and will provide an interesting change of genre for me as it’s a couple of years since I had any sci-fi novels to edit.

That should take care of February, and the latest in John Carson’s great DI Frank Miller series, Time of Death, will be with me in early March, ready for publication on 14th.
