The sixth in the DCI Morton series, this was edited in October 2017 and published 1st November 2017.
Sidelined and alone, DCI David Morton is relegated to the role of teacher. His task is to train the bright young things that will one day put him out of a job.
But hiding among the eager faces of the next generation is a talented student with murder in mind.
When Morton sets his class the challenge of showing how they would commit the perfect murder, the exercise results in his hardest case yet as he has to hunt the killer he helped to create.
The Evolution of a Serial Killer is the sixth stand-alone DCI Morton crime novel.
The fourth and final book in this great series was edited and published just in time for Christmas 2018.
The thrilling finale by Solomon Carter. Are Roberts and Bradley facing the end?
A BLOODY VENDETTA ENDS WITH A DEADLY CRISIS
Dan Bradley is approaching the point of no return. Bradley knows his enemy. He tracks down the man known as Cato – and this time Dan has help. But Cato is not what he seems…
And while Dan fights to bring an end to Cato’s reign of terror, Eva has a new battle on the home front.
In fact, she has two…
And Joanne is making Eva suspicious. When a handsome mystery man called Sam Wharton shows up in her life Eva is tempted to break some personal rules and Joanne does little to discourage her…
Sam Wharton is an enigma. The self-styled ‘book detective’ says he is seeking a stolen and very valuable first edition Bernard Shaw. Two other women are looking for the same item and both know Wharton well. Soon Wharton hires Eva to help him find the book. But questions start to fester – just who is Wharton and what does he really want?
Meanwhile, the young temptress Alice Perry waits in the wings, making dark threats, willing Roberts and Bradley to fail, so she can make her vicious move.
Cato is a violent monster. Dan is weak…
Eva is distracted by another man…
And Alice Perry is about to strike.
The final instalment could see the end of Roberts and Bradley.
It could spell the death of a detective…
Or the end of the affair.
Clouds are gathering. Enemies are closing in.
Only one side can win.
In the PI game, when you win you still just might lose…
The final book in the series, published in April 2018, brings to a close this first series by Solomon Carter featuring DI Hogarth. Hopefully, he will be appearing in many more series in the future.
The stunning crime finale with an epic conclusion!

BUT CRIME DOESN’T STOP FOR ANYONE. AND WHEN A REFORMED VILLAIN BECOMES THE VICTIM OF A HIT-AND-RUN, A NEW CASE OPENS. A CASE WHICH THREATENS TO BE THE END OF DI HOGARTH – IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE…
Local scallywag Benny Spencer is mown down in a seemingly random accident. Witness PCSO Bec Rawlins asks for Hogarth’s help but DI Hogarth is in no fit state for police work. The strung-out DI is distracted by a secret crisis he must deal with alone. Even so, Hogarth must work the new case or fail his superiors, his team, and his conscience. But stretched to the limit, Hogarth makes bad choices and mistakes – the kind which could cost a copper his job – and may yet cost him his life
The Darkest Truth: One day in the life of DI Hogarth. One day which will make him or break him forever.
Hogarth can’t let go his secret mission. But the sea front hit-and-run won’t go away.
And as the bad choices pile up, a seemingly straightforward case becomes a nightmare all of its own.
And when two nightmares collide, Hogarth’s trouble reaches a critical mass.
Something bad is bound to happen. But the question is, to who?
DI Hogarth breaks all the rules in the book. He forges unholy alliances and takes risks he will live to regret. Saints and sinners, liars and looters form the most temporary of allegiances. And underneath the surface, it’s every man for himself.
In the epic conclusion of the Darkest series, with DCI Melford on the prowl, DI Hogarth must reap what he has sown. Hogarth may go down, and if he does, he’ll go down fighting…
The third in the gripping new series featuring DI Hogarth, this was edited and published in April 2018.
DI HOGARTH AND THE TEAM ARE CALLED IN TO INVESTIGATE THE MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF AGEING SOFT PORN STAR, AIMEE GILLEN. GILLEN’S PROLIFIC DRUG USE SUGGESTS AN EASY CASE – A SIMPLE OVERDOSE OR ACCIDENTAL DEATH – BUT HOGARTH HAS SERIOUS MISGIVINGS. IS THE DI THINKING STRAIGHT? OR HAS HOGARTH’S PRIVATE CRISIS FINALLY TAKEN ITS TOLL?
DC Simmons is back as the team are called to investigate a mysterious death at Harry King Studios. Soft porn actress Aimee Gillen was an unpopular figure at the studio, lonely and on her way out. Studio staff suggest Gillen had many reasons for choosing suicide – but Hogarth sees just as many clues point to murder. Why did Aimee Gillen abandon a line of cocaine just before she died? What caused the cracked tile outside the fatal sauna? And who were the mysterious friends Gillen wanted to help? Palmer and Simmons sense DI Hogarth is at risk of turning an easy case into quagmire. And the town’s VIPs soon turn against him.
In the hunt for justice Hogarth ruffles the feathers of the Police and Crime Commissioner. Politics and naked ambition get in the way of a clean investigation. There must be consequences. And as the trouble builds, Hogarth cannot find the evidence he needs. His credibility is soon called into question.
A really enjoyable but last-minute edit squeezed in just before Christmas, the eleventh novel in the DI Frank Miller series is a fast-paced thriller that keeps you turning the pages until the very end.
Another wonderful and humorous instalment in the Guesthouse on the Green series as Mammy and Moira travel Vietnam.
I love the series and can't wait for book four!
A quick but emotional read - reading about the cruelty to the dog was heartbreaking but this was a lovely tale of the love and healing that animals can bring to our lives.
I would have given five stars but for the missed typos - a few t...
I get the impression that this could be a nice story but I've had to give up after forcing myself to go as far as 15% of the way through. If this novel has ever been near a remotely professional editor then the author was conned.

Another very enjoyable story but with a few niggles, hence the four stars rather than five. Maybe it's because I was tired but the editing issues grated on me more than in the first story and, do people really generally believe that 'ear...
